DayZ modded hosting — Workshop / Expansion / custom maps for a friends squad (2026)

This page is for modded DayZ — Steam Workshop collections, DayZ Expansion stacks, custom / Livonia-class maps, trader XML and persistence for a Discord squad — not a quiet vanilla Chernarus wipe. It is not the same job as Night 23 DayZ friend hosting (8 friends, RAM/Oceania first, mods optional), Night 53 SCUM (different engine/SKU), Night 70 Rust modded (Oxide / uMod / Carbon), or Night 75 Palworld modded (UE4SS / Workshop — different product). Among our six hosts (checked 24 Oct 2026, NZDT): Shockbyte, Nodecraft, and GameTeam sell DayZ (product URLs returned 200). Apex, BisectHosting, and PebbleHost returned 404 on the DayZ product paths we tried — curl HEAD 403 is not absence; we used full GET. Mod-installer claims below come only from each host’s own DayZ product copy, FAQ, or knowledge-base — we do not invent one-click paths.

RAM honesty: modded vs friend-vanilla

  • Friend vanilla / light settings (Night 23 job): hosts often card 8 GB for ~8 players (Shockbyte Berezino 8 GB; Nodecraft “Minimum Viable” 8 GB). GameTeam FAQ prints 6–8 GB even for quiet persistence.
  • Modded Workshop / Expansion / custom maps (this page): treat 10–14 GB+ as the working floor when Expansion, trader packs, custom maps and dense bases pile up. Shockbyte Elektro 10 GB / Cherno 12 GB+; Nodecraft Best Value 10 GB / Best Performance 14 GB; GameTeam $/GB lets you dial past the FAQ floor. Do not reuse Rust Oxide or Palworld UE4SS RAM tables — different products.
  • Slots ≠ RAM: 8 / 24 / 40+ “player” marketing is a ceiling. Your Discord size still filters; pay for GB, persistence, and a documented mod path, not the biggest slot number on the card.
  • Client + server: Workshop / Expansion mods usually need matching client installs (DZSA Launcher is the common path). Host panel tooling only helps the dedicated side — confirm the mod page before wipe night.

Workshop / Expansion / maps — host claims only

  • Shockbyte: Product copy claims Full Mod Support, DZSA Launcher, and DayZ Expansion; custom maps called out; FTP + automatic backups. Live knowledge-base “How to Install Workshop Mods on Your DayZ Server” documents panel Config → DayZ Mod Settings → Steam Workshop Mod IDs (comma-separated), then Mods / Server Mods folder names with semicolons — not a silent one-click collection install, but a named Workshop path.
  • Nodecraft: DayZ product markets SFTP + web file manager, automated tasks, game-swap instances. Steam Workshop is linked as an external DayZ resource on the page — no DayZ-specific Workshop one-click installer spelled out on the product copy we read (TBD in panel/docs). Lite / Wake & Play is labeled “not recommended for this game” — use Premium 24/7 for persistence.
  • GameTeam: FAQ answers “Can I install mods when hosting DayZ?” with Yes, through Steam Workshop, loaded with -mod=; notes server-side types/trader configs alongside client mods. Marketing also demos an AI “add the mods I want” flow — treat the FAQ -mod= path as the hard claim; confirm the AI path in panel before promising the squad.
  • Apex Hosting / BisectHosting / PebbleHost: DayZ product URLs we tried returned 404 (24 Oct 2026). No sellable DayZ SKU to quote for mods or price — 404, not invented TBD pricing.

DayZ modding is not Minecraft “one-click modpacks.” Backup first, match Workshop IDs / Expansion deps on every client (often via DZSA), and expect wipe-night XML edits for traders and types.

Comparison: modded DayZ plans

Price sources: every figure below comes from the host’s own DayZ product / pricing page (checked 24 Oct 2026, NZDT). Recurring monthly preferred; first-month sales disclosed where shown. 404 when the product URL returned not found. TBD when a sellable host had no clear plan total or mod-install claim. Product URLs that sell returned 200 — curl HEAD 403 is not absence; we used full GET. Confirm at checkout — stock and location change.

Oceania / AU–NZ–SG latency wedge

  • Nodecraft: Sydney / Melbourne / Auckland / Singapore listed on the DayZ page — best published Oceania/SEA story; Premium 24/7 for persistence; confirm DayZ capacity on order.
  • Shockbyte: Melbourne-based + DayZ product page — still pick the node on order and ping-test with mods loaded (gunfights desync hard on long routes).
  • GameTeam: Oceania for DayZ not named on the page we read — TBD.
  • Apex / Bisect / PebbleHost: no DayZ SKU — Oceania notes do not transfer.

Buy monthly through the first week with your Workshop / Expansion list loaded, measure everyone’s ping, then commit. See the Oceania ping guide.

Practical shortlist (not rankings)

  • Want named Workshop Mod IDs + DZSA / Expansion on the product page: Shockbyte Elektro 10 GB ($28.99) or Cherno 12 GB+ ($36.00) — confirm AU node at checkout.
  • Want AU/NZ/SG nodes + polished panel (DIY mods via SFTP): Nodecraft Premium 10–14 GB — skip Lite / Wake & Play for DayZ persistence.
  • Budget Workshop -mod= path on paper: GameTeam at 8–14 GB — ping-test if Oceania matters.
  • Apex / Bisect / PebbleHost: honest 404 for DayZ today — do not force a cart.
  • Quiet vanilla-ish friend Chernarus instead: see Night 23 — different job, often Shockbyte Berezino 8 GB.
