Garry’s Mod dedicated hosting for a small friend group (2026)
Garry’s Mod (GMod) is a physics sandbox where most of the fun comes from Workshop addons and game modes like Prop Hunt, TTT or DarkRP. A small friend server is cheap, starting at 1 GB. Shockbyte and Bisect both sell it. Prices below were read from the hosts’ own pages.
RAM, slots and addons
- Sandbox or Prop Hunt for a few friends: 1 GB (Shockbyte Crowbar).
- Lots of Workshop addons or custom maps: 3 GB (Tool Gun).
- Heavy game modes (DarkRP-style) or larger groups: 4 GB+ (Physics Gun).
- Slots: Shockbyte’s GMod page lists RAM, not player counts, so ask about slot limits if your group is big.
- Addons: Shockbyte lists Steam Workshop, plugin support and custom maps. Bisect lists “Asset Installers” and full mod support. Big Workshop collections make players download more when they join, so keep the list lean. See Night 6.
