7 Days to Die dedicated hosting for a small friend group (2026)
7 Days to Die needs more server than Terraria. Blood-moon hordes, large worlds and overhaul mods like Darkness Falls and Undead Legacy use a lot of RAM. This page compares slots, RAM, mod support, Oceania locations and recurring prices, with each price source labelled.
RAM and slots for 4–8 friends
- Vanilla, small world, 4–5 players: about 4–5 GB. Apex lists 2 GB as the minimum, which is tight for a horde night.
- Vanilla, 8 players, or a larger map: 6–8 GB.
- Overhaul mods (Darkness Falls, Undead Legacy): 8–10 GB.
- Slots are not performance: map size, zombie count and blood-moon settings matter more than the player cap.

Price sources: Shockbyte, Apex and Nodecraft prices are from their own 7DTD pages (Oct 2026). BisectHosting prices are third-party (marked ³), so confirm at checkout. TBD means we couldn’t confirm it.

Oceania note
Horde nights punish latency: hits register late and zombies rubber-band. AU/NZ squads should shortlist Shockbyte (AU), Nodecraft (Sydney and Melbourne), Apex (APAC hardware) and Bisect if Sydney has stock. See the Oceania ping guide.
Budget note and shortlist (not rankings)
- 8 friends, vanilla, cheapest confirmed: Shockbyte Normal, 5 GB, $11.99.
- Darkness Falls / Undead Legacy: Bisect 8 GB ($23.99³). This goes over the ~$20 budget, the same way heavy packs did on Night 8.
- AU/NZ, always on: Nodecraft Premium 4 GB ($19.98).
- Mod tooling by host: Night 6. Something lighter: Terraria (Night 9).
