No Man’s Sky dedicated / multiplayer hosting for a small friend group (2026)
Short answer: you can’t rent a No Man’s Sky dedicated server from any of the six hosts we track. Their No Man’s Sky page URLs all returned 404 when we checked on 23 Oct 2026. As far as we know, No Man’s Sky has no public dedicated-server software. Multiplayer runs through the game itself, with one player hosting a session. Here’s how to make that work for a squad.
How No Man’s Sky multiplayer works
- Player-hosted sessions: one friend’s game hosts and the others join through the friends list or the Join Game menu. There’s no 24/7 world. Each player’s save keeps their own progress.
- Shared bases persist on the galaxy servers Hello Games runs, so friends can visit your bases even when you’re offline. That’s different from an always-on hosted world.
- No RAM or slot tiers to buy: performance depends on the host player’s PC or console and their upload bandwidth.
- Crossplay: the game supports cross-platform multiplayer, but check the current platform rules in the game’s settings.
These points describe how the game is publicly known to work. They aren’t from a hosting company’s page. Check the latest patch notes if the game adds official server support.
