Factorio friend-server hosting — an always-on factory for a small group
You want a factory that keeps existing when the host friend logs off: 2–8 engineers, a password, and a save that survives. This page is not the same as the Factorio overview or Factorio modded. It covers the small-group, mostly-vanilla setup (Space Age included).
The job: private, small, always on
- Players: 2–8 friends. Factorio is mostly CPU-bound (UPS), not RAM-bound, so a small RAM tier is usually enough early on.
- Megabases: late-game factories and big mod packs need more headroom. See the modded page.
- Persistence: keep a copy of the save zip before updates; Factorio versions must match between server and clients.
